Gastritis is a common digestive disorder in modern day. It is a chronic irritation in the stomach characterized by nausea, bloating, stomach pain, vomiting, indigestion, burning sensation in the stomach, loss of appetite and black stools. It can be caused by excessive alcohol use, stress, chronic vomiting, bile reflux, infections, pernicious anemia and the regular use of anti-inflammatory medications like aspirin. In terms of Ayurveda, gastritis is caused by excess Pitta Dosha and often Vata as well.
Luckily Kottakkal has an Ayurvedic medicine called Acidact Tablets that act quickly on problems such as gastritis, acid peptic disorders and dyspepsia. It is a combination of four herbs: Pushkaramoola, Erandamoola, Yavam and Dhanvayashamoola. Acidact Tablets have an antacid effect on the stomach by regulating the secretions of acid and reducing bloating and abdominal pain. It strengthens digestion and has powerful anti-inflammatory properties.
Acidact Tablets can be used for two months on a daily basis and there are no known side effects associated with it. Typical dosage is 2 tablets three times a day before each meal. The more severe the symptoms, the higher the dosage.

To reduce or pacify kapha, Ayurveda has given us dietary, lifestyle and herbal treatment strategies. To reduce Kapha, emphasize stimulation, exercise, lightening, warming and drying in your diet and lifestyle.
